Dan Yeffet's vases

I would like to introduce you to Dan Yeffet a talented modern furniture designer. His limited collection caught my eye! He features space, furniture and lighting accessories accessories for homes and offices. Dan is the man behind JellyLab design studio currently located in Paris. He is an artist that “puts a piece of himself into every work he does.” He considers himself to be a explorer and adventurer and I find his designs exemplify that.

His uniquely designed vases sharpen the character of a room. I would display these pieces as unqiue stand alone decoration or as a centerpiece with flowers. Yeffet’s talent brings decor to another level. Express yourself, would you decorate your place with Yeffet’s designs?

On t’adore Amélie!

Asian Inspired Flower Arrangement for a 50th Birthday

Flower arrangement for party done by oxidesign Montreal Florists

Flower arrangement for a 50th birthday !

Last week was my boyfriend’s stepmom’s 50th birthday. Make sure not to tell a soul, she says it’s nothing to celebrate for a woman … we say it’s quite a milestone and we want to party!

After missing out on flowers for my boyfriend’s birthday (oups!) I redeemed myself by getting Lucie some beautiful red arachnids orchids and bamboos. The theme was an Asian inspired one so I also got some lanterns with red ribbons (instead of balloons) to jazz up her home and create a festive environment.

Everyone loved the result and we spent an awesome evening, happy birthday again Lucie and many more to come, I love you!

Birch Troncs Arrangements for Bella Italiana Restaurant

Birch troncs arrangements

When my friend Ross asked me to decorate his brand new Ristorante La Bella Italiana in St-Leonard with some of our creations, I was thrilled!

The design of the interior being modern yet warm, and the colors very earthy, we chose to go with the simplicity of birch troncs and river rocks in clear vases. We had created this design for my cousins condo which was in a similar color palette and thought it would work as well for this project.

Bottom line is that it ended up looking fantastic, I even had help from his little 2 year old nephew to place the rocks in the vases! We’d like to say congratulations to Ross and his family on their new journey and wish them luck and tones of succes.

Floral Wallpapers by Graham & Brown

Floral Prints Wallpaper by Graham and Brown

Who would have ever thought a couple years ago that floral wallpapers would become so trendy? I certainly didn’t and probably would have laughed about it. Something I learnt, not to have any prejudice.

I fell in love with these wallpapers from Graham & Brown, their colors, motifs and the whole decor simply blew me away. It is incredible how a wall full of flowers can animate a room and give it such personality and style, and make it fun and happy!

I simply cant wait to get my own floral wall!

HOW TO: Decorate a Rectangular Table With Flowers on a Low Budget

Decorating a Rectangular Table

Decorating a Rectangular Table

Design is all about balance!

When trying to dress a rectangular diner table on a budget, always keep in mind that you are better off having more smaller arrangements and accessories than only a couple big more expensive pieces. Yes some may say less is more, however in this case we are trying to dress a festive table from one end to the other. Use floating flowers in small vases, you can even use those same vases to float a colorful candle (depending on your color scheme), alternate these arrangements to create a dynamic and modern dinner table.

Go crazy with colors and shapes with all your table settings, don’t be shy, you’ll have so much fun doing it!

Fatih Can Sariöz Table Designs

I was browsing the web and found this tremendous design concept for a flower table from a young industrial designer from Turkey named Fatih Can SARIÖZ.

I love the design and think this is so great for people living in small spaces but still wish to entertain, trust me, I know something about that!

I hope his project comes to life one day, I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one interested!

Flowers … as a main dish!

Photo

Photo by Montreal Photographer Amélie Cousineau

We thought we needed to encourage people to use different, unthought-of corners in their homes and decorate them with flowers to bring them to life.

Dreamy white Hydrangeas and green apples are showcased here in all their simplicity to brighten up this kitchen’s opened shelf. The plates are nice, but the flowers and apples make them even more attractive! The best thing about it is that it is so simple and inexpensive to create, a couple stems of flower, fruits and your own dishes are all you need.

Who said flowers only belonged on a dining table? Use your imagination and decorate uncommon spaces of your home with nice fresh flowers!
