Enfin notre à tour de s’amuser! Habituellement c’est nous qui travaillons les soirées des mariages, mais pas cette fois-ci! Non, non, c’était le temps pour Stéphanie et moi de danser, prendre un verre (ou deux!) et de retrouver d’anciens amis et collègues de travail à cette merveilleuse soirée pour le mariage de Jennifer et Mike au Château Vaudreuil.

Nous avons travaillé avec Jennifer, la mariée, pendant notre parcours de 5 merveilleuses années au fleuriste Alain Simon Fleurs. Que d’histoires nous avons ensemble et tant de beaux souvenir, nous sommes si fières d’avoir eu la chance d’assister à cet heureux événement.

Nous souhaitons à Jennifer et Mike des tonnes d’amour, de bonheur et de succès pour les années à venir!

An Explosion of Green Shades

It was an honor for us to create floral arrangements for Desjardins Caisse Cité-du-Nord de Montréal’s annual cocktail for the second year in a row, it is so much fun to play with the color green! For those of you who read us, but are not located in Montréal, the logo is of Desjardins is green, and this is where we got our inspiration last year.

It was important for us to create fun, modern, simple but original arrangements using the color green to suit their image. From green apples to artichokes, green Cymbidium Orchids to Calla Lilies and big accordeon leaves, it was an explosion of different shades of green.

We would like to give a big thank you to Lucie Laranjo, and are looking forward to hopefuly creating yet another green concept for this great yearly event!

Montreal Corporate Event Flower Design for BRP, a Bombardier Division

When BRP (a division of Bombardier) contacted us to hire our services for their “President’s Soirée” at the Montreal Science Center, Gen and I were extatic! We love designing flowers for events that take place at this venue, we love designing flowers for corporate events,  and last but not least, we especially loved the theme of this one: Innovation.

Obviously, with such a theme,  the arrangements had to reflect an innovative feel, bub also a masculine one. We chose to work with oranges and greens to keep a very fresh modern and crisp look using green Cymbidium Orchids, Pandanus leaves, Oranges, Grapefruits and simple round ceramic white pots. The contrast between the roundness of the pot and the square base of the arrangement created an interesting dynamism.

Arrangements floraux pour la tente V.I.P. des HI International au Festival Osheaga de Montréal

Arrangements Floraux Festical Osheaga

Lorsque mon ami Julien Samson nous a demandé de décorer sa tente V.I.P. pour les membres des HI International (Auberge de Jeunesse International) au festival Osheaga de Montréal, nous avons répondu oui sans hésiter!

Quelle belle façon de marier nos fleurs avec la musique, deux de mes passions!

Le thème étant les arbres, nous avons choisi d’utiliser un mélange de bouleaux et de branches blanches artificielles super branchées (Lol, jeu de mots!) à l’intérieur de vases transparents. Nous avons ensuite utilisé des orchidées cymbidiums et des pommes vertes pour ajouter un coup d’éclat aux arrangements, il était très important de choisir une fleur qui allait résister tout le weekend au climat estival.

Nous avons réussi à faire tourner les têtes et Julien était ravi de notre décor, bref, ce fût un très beau weekend!

Gen and I absolutely love the Perspective 235° and its Passerelle, The Belvedere, and the Panoramic Hall

The modern industrial look makes our hearts beat. And when working in these halls, the amount of light that comes in just makes our day!

Take a look for yourselves. I would not even mention that the staff is just great.

Inpure is a modern, cutting edge Hair Salon. The design is modern, streamlined, and the hair designers are from the best you can find in Montreal. They are creative, and extremely talented. I personally see Marie-Ève Assedo . Yes! She is the one behind my hair style! And….she is amazing!

Inpure hired us to design arrangements for their reception area a couple of times. We had to think out of the box! I didn’t take pictures of all the arrangements we did for them, but I did find this one among my pictures, and I thought I would share given the fact that it is pretty original in colors and textures. Black and white zebra pattern faux-fur matched to exotic yellow and orange flowers created a harmonious clash. And it melted perfectly among the very creative and eclectic crowd at Inpure.

It is always fun to work with creative clients! They make us push the limits.

Arrangements de fleurs artificielles pour Chevrolet

Vous avez des préjugés concernant les fleurs artificielles? Et bien, nous en avions aussi. Cependant, étant toujours à l’affût de nouveaux produits, nous avons déniché des compagnies qui fabriquent des fleurs artificielles qui ont l’air quasiment naturelles. Steph et moi avons eu du mal les premières fois à travailler avec ces fleurs, non pas qu’elles manquent de beauté, mais il fallait se faire à l’idée.

Voici un projet que nous avons réalisé pour le nouveau bureau du président de “Vision Chevrolet” à Laprairie.
Le client ayant beaucoup de goût, nous a mandaté de lui créer un arrangement permanent, moderne, masculin, sans être trop sérieux.

Nous sommes satisfaites du résultat. Les arrangements fait d’orchidées cymbidium, de troncs de bouleau, de galets, et de mousse, le tout disposé dans de grands vases transparents ont trouvé leur place dans le décor de Mr. le Président, et l’ont imprégné de vie.

La leçon dans tout cela: il faut bannir tous les préjugés!

Cocktail équinoxe pour le traiteur Primavera

En fouillant il y’a quelques jours dans mes photos, je suis tombée sur ce projet que nous avions réalisé l’année dernière pour le “cocktail équinoxe” par le traiteur Primavera. Le cocktail a eu lieu a l’auberge St Gabriel du Vieux Montréal. Primavera présentait à ce cocktail sa nouvelle division plus moderne du traiteur. Les invités étant presque tous reliés d’une façon ou d’une autre à l’industrie de l’événementiel, Steph et moi ont voulu pousser les limites et laisser libre cours a notre créativité!

Ce projet me tiens particulièrement a coeur à cause de son thème: ” Le printemps” . Étant une passionnée de fleurs, vous pouvez imaginez que le printemps soit ma saison préférée! Oui, vous l’auriez deviné, Primavera veux bien dire printemps en italien.

Alors voici notre version funky/moderne du printemps:

• Vases avec vitre superposés, vases du bas avec du curly willow (pour représenter les racines) séparés d’une vitre et vases sur le dessus avec des fleurs (pour illustrer les fleurs qui poussent)
• Décorations avec de gros abats-jours avec des orchidées cymbidium qui pendent d’un lustre intégré (pour illustrer la pluie qui fait pousser les fleurs)
• Arrangements sur tables à cocktail de petits vases avec orchidées cymbidiums et crystaux séparés d’une vitre

Jetez un coup d’oeil sur les sketchs de Steph. Je ne peux me lasser de lui dire qu’elle dessine merveilleusement!

This was an event we did two weeks ago  at the Musée des Beaux-Arts for the company PriceWaterHouseCoopers. Having worked with them last year for their same annual shareholders’ event, our task was easy, please them for a second year in a row !

We presented them with 2 concepts, one being more classy and elegant, and the other being more funky and modern. We were glad to see they chose the modern one !

The use of flowers was very simple in this project, in fact we only used one kind: the Gloriosa. Let me tell you this flower is so stunning it is a show on it’s own ! We tied it to curly willow branches, had it floating inside vases next to green accordeon leaves (which made their bright fushia and yellow color pop out even more), we even had it lying on the table on its own.

In the end, another great event and we were pleased to be part of it !

A Flower Donation For A Fundraiser To Fight Cancer

Flower donation for a fundraiser to fight cancer

When Gen de Léry contacted us seeking supporters for a fundraiser to fight cancer, there was no other answer than “yes, we would help!”. Flowers being what we do best, we donated the arrangement you see in the pictures. The arrangement was won by this lucky lady in the picture, which is no other than Gen’s ( the organiser ) mother.

We picked yellow, because yellow is a bright color. And Gen ( my partner, this time ) and I, wish for a very bright future for cancer research. We donated a small arrangement, and if each and everyone of you donates a tiny little bit, then cancer research will have tons of tiny little donations, that eventually will become a huge big sum. Let’s all hold hands, and participate as much as we can to fight cancer, and let’s give it a bright future, as bright as these yellow flowers.
