Parrot Tulips Flower Arrangement for a Friend

Parrot Tulips bouquet by Oxidesign Montreal Florists

Parrot Tulips

Here are a few pictures of a simple and pretty arrangement I made for a friend who wanted to liven up her home!
The combination of white and green parrot tulips with the light blue hydrangea and the green cordyline leaves really gives out a soft and wintery look. Another proof that simple can be beautiful!
She also offered one to her mom because everybody loves flowers around the house!

Flower Arrangements for Liz’s Graduation Party at La Bella Italiana

Flower Arrangements for a Graduation Party by Montreal Florists Oxidesign

Flower Arrangements for a Graduation Party

We create flower arrangements for so many types of events, and yesterday it was for a private graduation party at the restaurant La Bella Italiana in St-Leonard.

The idea was to design small arrangements which would be used as centerpieces. Not being a fan of pinks, Liz asked me to work with whites and a pop of color, we then decides to go with citrus tones and white. We used white hydrangeas as a base for beautiful orange and yellow tulips, in a small cylinder vase decorated with a green cordyline leaf rolled inside. Adding a couple lemons and limes beside de arrangements brought our theme together.

The result looked great against the modern, dark chocolate brown design of the restaurant, congratulations again Liz!

What Pandanus and Cordyline Leaves Look Like in Nature

Pandanus and cordyline leaves

Pandanus and Cordyline leaves in Nature

While on vacation, I was so happy to see some very familiar faces, and no I am not talking about people, but about our good friends the pandanus and the cordyline leaves at their natural state!

Every year I am amazed to see these leaves we work with so often come to life in an actual plant on a beautiful sunny day by the beach. Before actually seeing one with my own eyes, I never would’ve thought a pandanus leaf came from such a big tree, so crazy! I took these pictures with the thought of showing you guys the origin of some of the products we use, I just think it is so incredible for these leaves to come from the plant they are attached to, to being folded in a thousand different ways in our arrangements.

Well I hope you enjoyed another little souvenir from my vacation, I am getting nostalgic thinking about those plants … got to wait until next year to see more!

A Bridal Bouquet for a Surprise-Wedding!

flower bouquets with roses, tulips and skimmia by o.xidesign florists Montreal

Bridal Bouquet for my Boyfriend's Mother

My boyfriend’s mother and stepfather went on a romantic trip to Spain and Portugal a couple weeks ago, how romantic you ask? Well romantic enough for them to sneak all the way to Gibraltar and, to everyone’s surprise, come back married!

I was so flattered when she told me that she couldn’t find a flower shop, had to buy flowers from the grocery store and finally opened her laptop to follow our blog for find tips and tricks on how to make her own bridal bouquet! So funny! Chris and I went to pick them up from the airport and we just had to give her the stunning bridal bouquet she deserved, using circus roses, fushia tulips, burgundy skimmia and green cordyline.

We are so happy for Marie-Andrée and Mike and still can’t believe the stunt they pulled on us, crazy kids! We wish them love and happiness for years to come!

Flower Arrangement for Infopresse’s Gala Flèches

Arrangement using flowers and feathers by O.xidesign Montreal Florists

Arrangement using flowers and feathers

When we found out there was a chance for us to create flower arrangements for Infopresse’s Gala Flèches at the Belvedere Hall in Montreal’s Science Centre, we were so excited!

Working side by side again with Traiteur Primavera, the food and flowers simply looked amazing once again. We went with a minimalist look of vases with green Cordyline leaves inside, a white Hydrangea, white and green parrot Tulips and a couple of black feathers to bring some elegance to this special event. We also incorporated floating white candles on small vases.

Gen and I were both there to prepare the flowers and we had a blast together, it’s so rare we get to work on a project the two of us!

Flower Design For An Intimate Montreal Backyard Wedding

Soft Color Flowers for an Intimate Montreal Backyard Wedding

Soft Colors for an Intimate Backyard Wedding

Kathou and I met a while ago having worked at the same flower shop, therefore it was important for me to create stunning arrangements for her cozy backyard wedding.
It was important for the flower choice to be simple and elegant, she didn’t want anything too extravagant as the event was a more intimate and laid-back one. We used gorgeous two-toned Esperance Roses, mini green Hydrangeas, white Dendrobium Orchids and green Cordyline leaves to create a soft modern meets traditional look.

Congratulations to the newlyweds, all the best for the future and your baby on the way!
