Jade Vine

The clawlike flower, jade vine is a rare tropical plant that grow in rainforests. This endangered specie is originally from the Philippines. In reflection of its name the flower colors vary from sea green to turquoise color. The jade vine is found near damp forest areas along the streams. It can grow up to 18 meters long and its leaflets can grow up to 25 cm long.

This flower is stunning and the color is very refreshing. It is a shame that the jade vine has become rare this is unfortunate, and caused by the shortage of rainforests. I would love to go to the Philippines and see this beauty!

Montreal Wedding Flowers: Marie-Ève & Raphaël

Aqua, White and Crystal Wedding

Marie-Ève and Raphaël hired us to design their wedding flowers at the stunning Montreal Science Center.

The guideline was very simple, crisp, modern, elegant and in the shades of white with a touch of aqua (special request from the groom!). We kept the flower selection quite modest, we simply worked with white Dendrobium Orchids which we paired with crystals, lots of crystals. We included the color aqua in the brading of the bouquets and boutonnières.

On a final note, here is another proof that simple is beautiful!

Les propriétés bénéfiques de la lavande

La fragrance de cette fleur bleu/mauve est unique; c’ est la préférée de ma mère et de ma soeur. Donc vous comprenez, j’ai dû en parler! Respect de famille oblige!

L’huile de lavande est populaire pour ses nombreuses propriétés bénéfiques. Elle peut être utilisée afin de combattre l’insomnie, favoriser un sommeil réparateur et contrôler l’anxiété et les migraines causées par le stress.

Oui, oui c’est pas fini! Elle agit aussi comme réparateur pour les plaies, les brûlures, les piqûres d’insectes et les coupures sans irriter la peau.

Toujours pas fini! Les fleurs de lavande peuvent aussi être utilisées en cuisine. Elle aromatisent sorbets, salades, poissons (personellement,  j’adore l’arôme de la lavande dans un milkshake bien frappé!)

Romantic Wedding Flower Arrangements

Valérie and Fabio are a fresh & beautiful young couple from Italy, that picked Montreal as the place where they want to exchange vows and celebrate with their family and friends their love and union.

They picked the Nelligan as their venue. A modern and beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Old Montreal.

When I hear Italy, I think romance! Don’t you? And this is exactly the feeling Valerie and Fabio’s wedding flowers reflected. Romance, lots of it! The soft pinks, blues and white color combination, and their choice of flowers (white and blue hydrangeas, cream and sand color roses, soft pink spray roses, cream cymbidium orchids) made the overall feel of the wedding elegant, soft and romantic

The idea was to use flowers, flowers, and more flowers, with no greenery. And this creates simple soft yet romantic luscious bouquets.

Congratulations to the beautiful couple!

Real Wedding: Sabrina & Jamie at KoKo

Sabrina & Jamie are a young couple from New York that decided to exchange vows and get married in Montreal.

Something you could definitely notice about Sabrina and Jamie, is that they wanted their wedding to be a “different” affair.

With a very modern taste, they picked the oh so gorgeous KoKo restaurant at Opus Hotel as a venue for their wedding.

The place really represented them. I was surprised when I met with Sabrina about her knowledge of flowers. She had researched meticulously the flowers she would like to see at her wedding. And honnestly, even with my very very long experience with flowers, rarely I saw a bride pick these kinds.

I got very excited, and rushed to the atelier to call Gen and discuss this wedding. I knew will be one of a kind.

Below you can see the sketches I provided Sabrina with. Pretty close to the real thing!

The flowers were in tones of blues and purples with some lime green.

We enjoy working on original projects like this.  Having an adventurous bride is something we seek with no hesitation!

We wish Sabrina & Jamie a future full of colorful happy events. Just like their wedding flowers!
