Had an arrangement in the orange tones to create last week, here is what we came up with:

We hadn’t used orange pincushion flowers in so long, so I was very excited to buy them for Gen to use! As for the orange mokara orchids, they are regulars at the atelier! We love working with them! Mix in some birch troncs with and without green moss, small monstera leaves, accordeon leaves and salal leaves and the recipe is done!

Another creation that was whipped up in no time and that looks stunning.

This week has been very green at O.xide Design as we created 2 different quotes for 2 corporate events which required green flowers and leaves mainly!

The first one, for a fashion show, is using our famous birch troncs with big accordeon leaves and white hydrangeas. The look had to be very modern, simple, yet showy.

The second one had an actual environment theme, so green, green and green was the only way to go! We used green anthuriums, green dendrobium orchids, green hydrangeas as well as big monstera and accordion leaves.

Let’s hope this green can brighten up this sad rainy and swowy week we are having!

Tulips Flower Arrangement

We got approached by Goodman Private Wealth Management to decorate their reception area with our flowers for the month of December!

Their decor being very crisp and modern, and their logo having a bit of orange, we chose as a color palet to work with whites, greens, a touch of orange and earth tones. We worked with white hydrangeas, orange tulips, green santinis, cedar, birch troncs and chocolate brown Christmas balls giving it a subtle Holiday feel.

Flower arrangement for a photo shoot at Laprairie Golf club

I went to the Laprairie Golf Club a couple weeks ago to help them out with a photoshoot they were having to showcase their beautiful brand new reception halls. The idea was to let the breathtaking landscape of the golf course speak for itself through the multiple windows in this hall. We decided not to overwelm the table with flowers and to make the centerpiece look more natural to go with the background. We used dark pink phalaenopsis orchids, birch troncs and river rocks in vases and also helped choose a stunning tablecloth and runner to accent the room. The napkins being plain offwhite, we thought that bringing a bit of the fushia from the centerpiece by placing a phalaenopsis flower and a river rock on each would look amazing, and it did!

The result looks so elegant and modern, we think many happy events will be taking place there throughout the years to come!

Birch troncs arrangements

When my friend Ross asked me to decorate his brand new Ristorante La Bella Italiana in St-Leonard with some of our creations, I was thrilled!

The design of the interior being modern yet warm, and the colors very earthy, we chose to go with the simplicity of birch troncs and river rocks in clear vases. We had created this design for my cousins condo which was in a similar color palette and thought it would work as well for this project.

Bottom line is that it ended up looking fantastic, I even had help from his little 2 year old nephew to place the rocks in the vases! We’d like to say congratulations to Ross and his family on their new journey and wish them luck and tones of succes.

Little Gen in a Big Truck !

Before leaving on vacation, Gen sent me these pictures of her leaving for a flower delivery for a corporative event…

With over 120, 6 feet tall, birch troncs, around 20 tall vases and of course flowers we definitely had to rent a truck! Let me tell you I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw these pictures of mini-Gen actually standing up in this gigantic truck; I could only think about how she must have looked driving that thing, soooo funny!

Only Gen could make this situation as hilarious as it is!

Birch troncs with different themes for BOMA Quebec

We created floral arrangements for BOMA Québec, a local company who’s mission is to train, inform and represent building owners and administrators and to encourage efficient building management.

The cocktail took place at the very modern Le Parquet reception hall in Montréal and was organized by OPC Événements. The theme for the evening was the 4 seasons, therefore we worked with different colors to achieve this feel. The sceling being extremely high, we decided to use the same base for all the arrangements : 6 feet birch troncs in vases. Working with a variety of flowers from white Hydrangeas and white Agapanthus for winter, green Anthuriums and green Callas for spring, yellow Gerberas and yellow Mokara Orchids for summer and finally orange Gerberas and orange Fire Opals for fall. We also incorporated Pendanus and Accordeon leaves as well as various fruits.

What an impact these arrangements gave to the evening!

Arrangements de fleurs artificielles pour Chevrolet

Vous avez des préjugés concernant les fleurs artificielles? Et bien, nous en avions aussi. Cependant, étant toujours à l’affût de nouveaux produits, nous avons déniché des compagnies qui fabriquent des fleurs artificielles qui ont l’air quasiment naturelles. Steph et moi avons eu du mal les premières fois à travailler avec ces fleurs, non pas qu’elles manquent de beauté, mais il fallait se faire à l’idée.

Voici un projet que nous avons réalisé pour le nouveau bureau du président de “Vision Chevrolet” à Laprairie.
Le client ayant beaucoup de goût, nous a mandaté de lui créer un arrangement permanent, moderne, masculin, sans être trop sérieux.

Nous sommes satisfaites du résultat. Les arrangements fait d’orchidées cymbidium, de troncs de bouleau, de galets, et de mousse, le tout disposé dans de grands vases transparents ont trouvé leur place dans le décor de Mr. le Président, et l’ont imprégné de vie.

La leçon dans tout cela: il faut bannir tous les préjugés!
