Sunny flowers for a sunny day!

A great arrangement for Easter

A great arrangement for Easter

It feels like summer and we love it!

We decided to brighten up the day even more with a fresh and sunny flower arrangement. Yellow forsetia branches which will bloom in all their glory in no time, orange pincushions, salal leaves and green apples in a nice modern white container. Simple yet powerful enough to put a smile on anyone’s face!

A great arrangement for Easter too, nothing says spring like forsetia branches!

Flower and Green Apple Arrangements

apple flower arrangement by Oxide Design Montreal Florists

We love working with green apples, they give so much volume and texture to any arrangements at a reasonable price. If they work with the color palette and style of a project, there are good chances you’ll find them there. As a matter of fact, we love incorporating any fruits or even veggies in our arrangements!

There are so many options as to how we play with these apples. Whether they fill a vase, directly work side by side with flowers in an arrangement or are piled up beside a centerpiece, we always find a way to be creative! Enjoy our fruity pictures of the use of green apples in ‘09.

DIY: Fun and Modern Apple Arrangements

Red Apples arrangement

Red Apples arrangement

Making a impact doesn’t have to be complicated, sometimes it only takes a good idea, a few bucks and a couple minutes of your time.

Here is a simple and cheap way to decorate a vase, fill it with your favorite colored fruits or even veggies, mix and match to your taste and decor, fill with water and admire your work! You’ll notice that by adding the water you will get a much more interesting effect, your fruits and veggies will look like they grew in front of your eyes. For a fun effect you could also bunch up a piece of cellophane clear paper and throw it in the bottom of the vase before you add your fruits and veggies, looks like ice!

Apples are fun to use in floral  arrangements, take a look here at some designs we’ve created using apples.

If you try this idea don’t hesitate to share pictures with us, you can post them on our facebook wall

Les fleurs du mariage d’Isabelle et Sébastien à Montréal: automne et pommes rouges!

Montreal wedding flowers for fall

Flowers … as a main dish!

Photo

Photo by Montreal Photographer Amélie Cousineau

We thought we needed to encourage people to use different, unthought-of corners in their homes and decorate them with flowers to bring them to life.

Dreamy white Hydrangeas and green apples are showcased here in all their simplicity to brighten up this kitchen’s opened shelf. The plates are nice, but the flowers and apples make them even more attractive! The best thing about it is that it is so simple and inexpensive to create, a couple stems of flower, fruits and your own dishes are all you need.

Who said flowers only belonged on a dining table? Use your imagination and decorate uncommon spaces of your home with nice fresh flowers!

Corporate Cocktail Flower Design for Desjardins Cité du Nord

An Explosion of Green Shades

An Explosion of Green Shades

It was an honor for us to create floral arrangements for Desjardins Caisse Cité-du-Nord de Montréal’s annual cocktail for the second year in a row, it is so much fun to play with the color green! For those of you who read us, but are not located in Montréal, the logo is of Desjardins is green, and this is where we got our inspiration last year.

It was important for us to create fun, modern, simple but original arrangements using the color green to suit their image. From green apples to artichokes, green Cymbidium Orchids to Calla Lilies and big accordeon leaves, it was an explosion of different shades of green.

We would like to give a big thank you to Lucie Laranjo, and are looking forward to hopefuly creating yet another green concept for this great yearly event!

Arrangements floraux pour la tente V.I.P. des HI International au Festival Osheaga de Montréal

Arrangements Floraux Festival Osheaga

Arrangements Floraux Festical Osheaga

Montreal Wedding Flowers: Nathalie & Dale

Old Montreal Wedding Flowers

Old Montreal Wedding Flowers

Nathalie & Dale are an easy going young couple from out of town, that decided to get married in the gorgeous Place D’Armes Hotel in Old Montreal. Many young couples, especially out-of-towners are falling in love withOld Montreal and are making it their wedding destination.

I think the main reason for this phenomenon, is that typically, weddings are more conservative than other kind of parties. And Old Montreal with its beautiful old architecture brings the “conservative” and “elegant” factor to a wedding. On the other hand, the hotels are very modern in interior design and branding.

In my opinion the mariage of the old to the new is very exciting, and I think this is what is attracting the couples to pick Old Montreal.

Nathalie and Dale represent a bit what I am talking about. Nathalie being more modern in her taste, and Dale a bit more conservative.  Our challenge was to please them both, and I think we succeeded. Working with this couple was a lot of pleasure, as they were relaxed and fun all through the process.

We went with a neutral colour scheme of creams and whites that we punched with some apple green and chocolate bown. The flowers we used in the project are the green cymbidium orchids, green celosia, white hydrangea, cream roses, all very classic flowers. To make the bride happy and give her that extra little something, we integrated chocolate brown feathers. And finally we combined green apples to add freshness to the whole feel of the wedding.
