What an honor it was to work with the best of the best on this Style me pretty photoshoot!

When our dear friend Azar from Principal Planner approached us to create the floral designs for this awesome photoshoot, we screamed YES! It is not every day you get the opportunity to be featured on one of the best wedding blogs out there … what an achievement for us, we are so proud.

The whole process started with an inspiration board we had to portray in our designs, the colors being white, black and light blue with a vintage flare. After hours of brainstorming and shopping with Azar, ”From Paris With Love” came to life! We used white and blue hydrangeas, stunning white roses, white dahlias, white peonies, black callas and white astilbe. Along with Azar’s breathtaking design of the room, the result is amazing and Davina + Daniel were there to capture all this greatness!

Thank you again Azar for choosing us amongst all the sensational vendors you picked, working with you is always crazy fun!

The tradition of corsages

corsages

Did you ever wonder why people wear corsages at weddings? Originally corsages were started by the ancient Greeks. They believed the strong fragrance of the flowers would push all evil spirits away. Traditionally corsages were worn by the bridal party, mother of the bride and groom. Today, both sides of the family groom and bride wear them to help identify the family members. I’m a huge fan of corsages, especially when vibrant and exotic flowers are used. I find they add a elegant touch. The ones that I really love are created by Steph and Gen. They always create fresh, delicate and modern corsages. My personal fave is the corsage with the touch of feather.

Here are MaryAnn and Eric’s centerpieces!

As I mentionned last friday, MaryAnn LOVES butterflies and wanted them incorporated in the centerpieces. We thought tying them to branches inside the vase and laying them on the flowers would look lovely, and it did. The colors were awesome, it truely was a girly girl flower concept!

Working with Karen Ortizo, the wedding planner, was great, hope to do it again soon!

MaryAnn & Eric Wedding at Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal

F56812294

MaryAnn and Eric got married on July 17th at the Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal.

Since they live in Florida, we discussed and designed their wedding flowers from a distance which was quite challenging but so great to see how much faith they had in our work! She LOVES butterflies and wanted a cream, green, cranberry and different shades of pink color pallet. Peonies were the main element, with roses and hydrangeas we were able to give her the bouquets of her dreams!

We will be showing off her centerpieces on monday, can’t wait!

If you have been reading us for a while, you simply know how much I LOVE peonies, all colors of them, but these pink ones are just stunning! With the peachy orange of these roses and hot pink of the spray roses it is a soft and happy mix all together.

A preview of Julie and Ari’s wedding flowers

A preview of Julie and Ari's wedding flowers

We have designed a very organic look for Julie and Ari’s Sunday wedding and thought we would share it with you before the big day this weekend!

The bride LOVES moss so we decided to incorporate it in everything, she also loves green with a small pop of color.
Our work is usually created in clear glass vases, but not for this one, we had to bring more warmth and more of a natural feel to the designs. We chose to go with a more traditional clay pot which we will wrap in an accordeon leaf for a more organic look. Curly willow branches and lots of salal leaves will also join the party.

We can’t wait to see the final product, stay posted for the pictures!

Eco-friendly Flower Arrangements Design

Eco Friendly themed flower arrangement

Eco Friendly themed flower arrangement

I was recently put to the challenge to create a glamourous, yet eco-friendly design for a very green couple getting married at the Montreal’s Science Center.
After much thought, I came up with the use of huge white phalaenopsis plants resting on top of a tall cylinder vase with river rocks at the bottom, a floating light green hydrangea and a tall branch of curly willow coming out of the top. I simply figured that instead of having flowers that would be thrown away a couple days later, they could at least keep those plants as long as they can take care of them! ;)
We always try to use and re-use as much of the flowers we can in a project so there is no waste, I think the plants are a great idea in that sens!

Lilac themed wedding for Jessica and Jesse

Last weekend was Jessica & Jesse’s wedding, and boy did this one smell good!

Getting married in the perfect season for lilac, this was the bride’s first request: lilacs, lilacs and more lilacs! What a feast for the senses, magnificent colors, shapes and scent. We used along with the lilacs some beautifull blue thistles, blue delphiniums, purple mokara orchids, salal leaves and curly willow.

What a dreamy color pallett, we love it, congratulations to the happy couple!

Sketches of a Wedding Centerpiece

A sketch for an August wedding by Oxide Design, Montreal Florists

A sketch for an August wedding

I created this design for a centerpiece a couple weeks ago for clients who are getting married in august.

The wedding taking place at the Montreal’s W Hotel, the design had to work with the hotel’s color and style.
I simply love what the result of this sketch!
A piece of glass separating a ball of eggplant mini-carnations and a tall cylinder clear vase with black river rocks at the bottom and fushia dendrobium orchids inside. We also added some chrome chandeliers around the vase to create more impact.

I am so excited about this one, but we’ll have to wait a little while …

Boutonniere and boutonniere for the dog! by Oxide Design, Montreal Florists

Boutonniere and boutonniere for the dog!

As promised yesterday, here are pics of the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnières and even a very special guest in the bridal party … their doggy! We attached a long ribbon to a small boutonnière in order for them be attach it around his neck, how cute!

Sahara roses, light pink spray roses, eucalyptus berries, light pink triptomene and feathers with a touch of silver in the brading of the bouquets and boutonnières kept the romantic and vintage look we went for throughout the whole wedding.

We sincerely whish all the best to this great couple, what a pleasure to work with such fantastic people!
