My turn, my turn! I’m so excited to share those Amélie Cousineau creations with you!

So much fun to let loose and play around while she captures and immortalises every emotion! We couldn’t stop laughing when she suggested I do the ’’Céline Dion’’ superstar pose, it turned out so great, I still have a smile on my face when I look at it! Lol

This was an amazing experience for me, it builds up your self confidence and makes you feel great about yourself, I definitely recommend it to all you ladies out there, go for it and most importantly have fun doing it!

Gen by Amélie Cousineau, Montreal Photographer

Gen and I had a blast during this photoshoot with Amélie Cousineau, where the sole purpose was to have girl fun!

Amélie, on top of being an amazing photographer that knows how to capture the essence of women, is a very good friend of ours.
Playing supermodels was so much fun. And we highly recommend trying it once in a lifetime.
Today, I sharewith you the results of Gen’s pics. I particularly like the one with the flower mic.

What do you think?

Nicole Dextras’s Wearable Designs

Nicole Dextras wearable designs

Nicole Dextras wearable designs

Nicole Dextras is an ephemeral and environmental Vancouver artist who uses nature but with a twist.
She creates wearable designs strictly from nature: grass, flowers, twigs and leaves.
Her work has been used by professionals such as Jordi Sancho from “Eco-Man” and Nita Bowerman from “Invasive Species”.
I feel Nicole has a fascinating approach towards the use of nature. Her wearable pieces are creative and intricate. A great deal of time and patience is required to put these pieces together.
I’m impressed Nicole!

Our favorite wedding of ‘09

Our favorite wedding 09

Our favorite wedding 09

Here is the big winner of ‘09, the wedding that blew our minds and that got our creative juices flowing like no other, the most extravagant yet simple and beautiful; Sabrina and Jamie’s wedding at Koko!

From blue thistles to green moby dicks, purple monk’s hood to fushia dendrobium orchids and curly willow branches to actual artichokes, the variety unusual flowers was quite shocking. It was great for us to get to brainstorm to find the perfect balance between weird and magnificent, as requested by Sabrina, what a great challenge!

Hoping 2010 will bring us tones more exciting wedding projects, we would now like to officially close 2009 by thanking all the brides that gave us the opportunity to pick our brains and create, for them, wonderful designs last year, you are the reason we are so passionate about our work! Thank you!

Floral Design Inspired by a Romantic Dinner in Milan

Flower Arrangement for Romantic Dinner that Says: Passion

Flower Arrangement that Says: Passion - Photos by Montreal Photographer Amélie Cousineau

The feel for these designs was inspired by our idea of a very romantic & intimate dinner for two, in … Milan perhaps!

We wanted to use the ornate look to the extreme to achieve this mixture of modern and romance, all in red and black, using Roses, Hydrangeas and Amaryllis in different shades of reds. The feathered lampshade with a suspended flower ball on top of the clear vase creates tones of drama, as for the smaller arrangements they simply bring a pop of color to the black plates.

We suspended a flower ball made of red Amaryllis flowers and pieces of reddish Hydrangeas, we then attached black ornaments to the bottom to jazz up the look of a simple flower ball and give it a more modern and finished feel.

We submerged the feet of three chrome chandeliers in a sea or red roses and reddish amaryllis inside a low cylinder shaped clear vase.

This screams passion!

Flowers For A Girly Cupcake Tea Party in Paris

Montreal Flowers: A girly cupcakes and tea party in Paris.

Montreal Flowers: A girly cupcakes and tea party in Paris.

A girly cupcake tea party in Paris, was the inspiration behind this photoshoot that we’ve done a few months ago. The gorgeous pictures were taken by Amélie Cousineau, the very talented photographer behind many of the pictures you see on this blog.

We wanted to create a pink, girly, glamourous and luxurious ambiance. Now that I am thinking about it, I am realizing that maybe Gen, Amélie and I should have dressed up, and enjoyed tea and cupcakes on this set! Well, we were busy working. And looking at these pics, we’ve done a pretty good job, don’t you think? I am proud of this thematic.

The abundance of dark pink phalaenopsis orchid bouquets with their steams braded in fushia satin ribbons emerging from chandeliers on top of tall clear cylinder vases are definitely a show stopper. The small pink peony bouquets create a nice touch on the very festive table. J’aime, j’aime! And you?
