Patrick Nadeau Affordable House

Architect Patrick Nadeau is currently in the process of making this beautiful, green hill roof house. It should be complete by February 2011 in Reims, France. The house is priced at an affordable 250 000 euros (currently $385 386.05 in Canadian). I’m sure it will catch the attention of many plant lovers looking to by an affordable house. It’s just perfect!

Steven Ma’s Eco-friendly Bench

Steven Ma's eco friendly bench

Steven Ma's eco-friendly bench

Steven Ma is behind the eco-friendly bench.  Being very creative and friendly towards the environment the bench collects solar energy during the day and releases it in the night by illuminating the bench.  The bench also accumulates water for the plants that are planted on the sides of the bench.  Ma’s design is ingenious! I just adore creativity.

Eco-friendly Flower Arrangements Design

Eco Friendly themed flower arrangement

Eco Friendly themed flower arrangement

I was recently put to the challenge to create a glamourous, yet eco-friendly design for a very green couple getting married at the Montreal’s Science Center.
After much thought, I came up with the use of huge white phalaenopsis plants resting on top of a tall cylinder vase with river rocks at the bottom, a floating light green hydrangea and a tall branch of curly willow coming out of the top. I simply figured that instead of having flowers that would be thrown away a couple days later, they could at least keep those plants as long as they can take care of them! ;)
We always try to use and re-use as much of the flowers we can in a project so there is no waste, I think the plants are a great idea in that sens!

Anemonies

Just because it’s Friday, let’s keep it simple!
Two beautiful colors of anemonies in a vase which were photographed patiently waiting at Gen’s house for our photoshoot last monday with Amélie Cousineau. What a stunning flower, so delicate yet with a personality of it’s own!
We are so excited to show you the new pictures of Gen, myself and those tiny crazy flowers!

Majestic Waterfall

Majestic Waterfall

Have you ever seen a waterfall? Well, I have and let me tell you its the most surreal feeling. This particular water wall is situated in the Grand Canyon of the Yellow Stone River. It is listed as one of the 15 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. Maybe its my imagination, but doesn’t the water look like sugar being poured into a big bowl? Just beautiful and magical!

A Sunny Forsythia tree

It could be sunnier today, what do you think …

Well I am bringing the sunshine with these pictures of my mother’s forsythia tree! It is hard to believe that this huge mass of stunning yellow flowers started off as a small twig she planted … probably about 10 years ago? Incredible!

There is such a beauty to flowering trees, what is your favorite?

Making Gardening Modern

Gardening time and I love this furniture!

Gardening time and I love this furniture!

Its gardening time again! I found some exciting gardening decorations that are out of the norm. These pieces will out shine all of your neighbor gardens! Yes they are high maintenance, but worth it. Each piece has its own modern flare. My personal favorite is the grass ottoman. It just looks like a really, really big chia pet! :) Remember those back in the 90’s? I’m really keen on making a garden look fresh and modern and I find these furiture pieces will do the trick!

Joyeuse Pâques!

Hydrangées aux différentes couleurs!

Hydrangées aux différentes couleurs!

Lorsqu’on pense à Pâques, on pense chocolat!

Origami Flower Branches by Thryn

Origami Flowers

Origami Flowers

I just found this while browsing the web and I fell in love!

What a cool, inexpensive and green way to decorate for a wedding without using real flowers. I love her choice of colors, the reds and blues work perfectly with the chocolate brown of the branches. I would certainly use that idea for a party!

Flowers Uncut by Jeff Leatham

Jeff Leatham

Jeff Leatham

I am in complete heaven and shock, as I just discovered, while browsing the web, that there was a show on Jeff Leatham named Flowers Uncut on TLC?!? The show has been running since last November, where have I been … have I been THAT crazy busy that I haven’t even noticed it existed, guess so!

I already knew his sensational, simple, out of this world style, but after watching clips of him in action, I am officially in love! What a cool guy! Working with flowers for over 10 years now, it takes alot to take my breath away, he does it everytime! His designs are so on point for me, like we have been saying from the beginning: simplicity is the key, let the colors and flowers speak for themselves and don’t overdo it. There is nothing more beautiful than a bunch purple hydrangeas in a great vase!

That’s it for now, I have to go and try to find all the full episodes, I’m so excited! ;)
